Speaker Bios

Greg Basham, BA, MBA – Chief Executive Officer, eeVoices Limited, currently heads one of the leading organizations in pre-employment background check, employee engagement survey and exit interview in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining eeVoices, Basham led the human resources development group for one of Canada’s largest property and casualty insurers where his group pioneered leading edge concepts in organization development, performance planning and review, leadership and training. His success led to the executive suite where as Vice President with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia he held a unique mix of executive responsibilities including: government relations, corporate policy, strategic planning, customer fairness and complaints, freedom of information and privacy, Ombudsman Investigations, internal audit, leadership development and youth road safety. Prior to this Basham served as Project Director led a reorganization of the Vancouver Police Department and authored “A planning, implementation, and organization theory guide to the team policing model” published in 1977, by the Ministry of the Attorney‐General (Victoria, B.C).

Dr. Joseph Wong received his Honors Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto, Canada. His major was in Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology. After earning his first degree, he decided to continue his study, not in Medical Genetics, but in Chiropractic Medicine. Chiropractic is a hands-on health care profession. He entered the Southern California University of Health Sciences, Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in September, 2001 and graduated with the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic in April 2005. After obtaining his degree, he continued in his post graduate study in Pediatric Chiropractic. He earned his F.I.C.P.A. (Fellow International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) at the end of 2005. He opened his own Chiropractic centre in 2007. He is currently the medical consultant for the Hong Kong government discipline services such as the Junior Police Officers Association, the Customs Officer’s union, the Immigration Service Officers Association, the Fire Service Department Association, the Ambulancemen Union, the Immigration Assistant Union, the Leisure Services Staff General Union, etc.

Deborah Negrash, Corporate Director – Human Assets of The Executive Centre,overseeing the human resources function covering team member relations, recruitment, training and professional development, diversity and benefits. She focuses on promoting the “Oneness” culture in every aspect of the business in every region to deliver a team-based work environment; and improving upon and developing an efficient HR System that is in line with the company’s vision and values as well as perceived as the foundation of The Executive Centre for further business growth. Deborah joined The Executive Centre as Business Development Manager in 2008 and was later promoted to Group General Manager of South China in 2009 and Group Head of South & West China in 2013. Prior to joining The Executive Centre, Deborah worked for Riverdale International, a property developer in Washington DC as Marketing Director. She also managed part of the family business focused on a club/restaurant in Washington DC after graduation. Deborah holds a Bachelor Degree in International Affairs with a focus on Asian Studies and International Business, from George Washington University.

Trevor Smith, Founder and Executive Coach, The Orchard Partnership is an experienced executive coach, trainer and sales performance consultant working across a variety of industries. He founded The Orchard Partnership in order to share his 29 years of front-line business and sales experience accumulated whilst working in both Europe and Asia. He has been resident in Hong Kong for over 12 years. Trevor is a member of the Executive Management Team of a wholly owned subsidiary of one of the UK’s most respected Insurance and Investment groups. This C-corridor experience and front line sales know-how gives him great credibility when working with leaders, sales executives and managers at all levels. He is able to apply this practical business knowledge as a highly effective executive coach and trainer.

Teresa Cheuk, Director, Business Systems, The Executive Centre, has strong background of administration management in her career life and is capable to enhance the effectiveness of business tasks through technology. She has been assisting companies to grow their business from a preliminary idea into multi-national company level.

Aparna Sachar, Founder and Chief Trainer, Zen@Work, is the president of the Hong Kong Toastmasters club. Aparna excels at motivational speeches with seasoning of humour thrown in. Her powerful messages, inspiring tone and unique presentation topics empower listeners to excel. Aparna’s experience as a teacher and also as a member of Toastmasters has turned her into a coveted speaker who people enjoy listening to. Aparna has been voted the Best Table Topic Speaker and Best Speaker multiple times.

Ada Yeung, Human Resources Manager at English Schools Foundation, is a Human Resources professional with diversified experience in HR policies, Training and Development, Recruitment, Employee Relations and HR Administration. Yeung has invaluable experience in executing new HR initiatives and managing big scale events.

Connie Chan, Head of Human Resources, Yahoo Hong Kong  has over 13 years experience in human resources management, talent acquisition and consulting in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific. She has made outstanding accomplishment in change management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and workforce management in leading technology companies and investment bank. She currently heads up Human Resources for Hong Kong, Korea and Japan office.   She holds a Master Degree in Human Resources Management from Macquarie University and a Bachelor Degree in Business from Huddersfield University.
